GetResponse Alternatives 2026: Price the Buy-Back First
Leaving GetResponse saves money on some plans only. Starter, Marketer and Creator setups priced at Moosend, MailerLite, Kit, systeme.io and Zoho.

Before naming a single GetResponse alternative, answer one question: which tabs in your GetResponse account do you open in a normal month? Email and Autoresponders only? Automation and Tags too? Webinars, Courses, Websites? The answer decides which alternative is cheaper, and sometimes it decides that none of them is.
The lists ranking for this search compare starting prices: Moosend 'for as little as $9 a month', MailerLite from $12, GetResponse from $19. That comparison assumes the alternative replaces GetResponse at its own sticker price. It only does if you use nothing the alternative leaves out. The real number is what it costs each month to rebuild, somewhere else, the parts of GetResponse you actually use. For Starter users it's small and so are the savings. For Marketer users it's tags and workflows, which every alternative here includes, and leaving pays. For Creator users it's the webinar room, and that one line decides the answer.
All prices below are per month on yearly billing unless I say otherwise, because that's how Zoom shows its prices and it keeps the comparison even. Monthly billing moves every figure up; in the email-only tables it changes one result, which I point out where it happens.
What each GetResponse plan bundles
| Starter | Marketer | Creator | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price at 1,000 contacts (yearly / monthly) | $15.58 / $19 | $48.38 / $59 | $56.58 / $69 |
| Price at 2,500 | $23.78 / $29 | $56.58 / $69 | $64.78 / $79 |
| Price at 5,000 | $44.28 / $54 | $77.90 / $95 | $89.38 / $109 |
| Email, landing pages, signup forms, popups | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Automation | A welcome series and one custom workflow | Workflows, tags, scoring, event triggers | Same as Marketer |
| E-commerce (store, abandoned cart, promo codes) | No | Yes | Yes |
| Web push, chats, paid ads, funnels | No | Yes | Yes |
| Website builder, courses, live webinars (100 attendees), paid newsletters | No | No | Yes |
| Users | 3 | 5 | 5 |
Find the column that matches the tabs you open. The "bloat" argument that runs through these lists, that GetResponse charges for webinars and funnels you never open, applies to Marketer (funnels) and Creator (both). Starter has neither.
Starter: the plan the alternatives barely undercut
The basket here is a newsletter, one welcome sequence, a landing page and a form. Every alternative below can do that.
| Contacts | GetResponse Starter | MailerLite Comfort | Moosend Pro | Kit Creator | systeme.io |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $15.58 | $17.10 | $13 | $33 | $0 (Free) |
| 2,500 | $23.78 | $29.70 | $26 (3,000 tier) | $50 | $14.17 (Startup) |
| 5,000 | $44.28 | $44.10 | $38 | $75 | $14.17 (Startup) |
I expected Starter to be the easy plan to beat on price. It isn't. On yearly billing MailerLite Comfort costs more than Starter at both 1,000 and 2,500 contacts, and Moosend is cheaper at 1,000 and 5,000 but not at 2,500. The gaps are a few dollars a month either way. On monthly billing it's the same picture: Starter and Comfort are both $19 at 1,000, and at 2,500 Starter's $29 beats Comfort's $33 and Moosend's $32.
The exception is systeme.io. Its Free plan holds 2,000 contacts with one tag, one email sequence and one workflow, and its $17 Startup plan ($14.17 a month on yearly billing) holds 5,000 with ten tags and five workflows. If those caps fit, it's the only real saving for a Starter user; where its tag limits bite is in my systeme.io head-to-head.
So: on Starter, leave for a feature or a workflow limit, not for price. A difference of a few dollars a month doesn't pay for an afternoon of rebuilding forms and sequences, let alone the risk of breaking a welcome email.
Marketer: where leaving pays
The basket: tags, several automation workflows (say five), segments built on them. This is what Marketer adds over Starter, and it's ordinary on every alternative here.
| Contacts | GetResponse Marketer | MailerLite Comfort | Moosend Pro | Kit Creator | systeme.io Startup |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $48.38 | $17.10 | $13 | $33 | $14.17 |
| 2,500 | $56.58 | $29.70 | $26 | $50 | $14.17 |
| 5,000 | $77.90 | $44.10 | $38 | $75 | $14.17 |
| What each vendor's plan table lists | Unlimited workflows, tags, 5 users | 50 automations, no group cap, 3 users | Unlimited workflows, tags, 5 team members | Unlimited automations, tags, 2 users | 5 workflows, 10 tags, assistant accounts |
At 1,000 contacts, moving from Marketer to Moosend saves $35.38 a month, $424.56 a year; to MailerLite Comfort, $31.28 a month. At 5,000 the gap to Moosend is $39.90 and to systeme.io $63.73, as long as five workflows and ten tags are enough. Kit is the narrowest saving and shrinks to $2.90 at 5,000, which fits my Kit head-to-head: Kit's case against GetResponse rests on how many workflows you run, not on price per contact. If you need more than three people in the account, MailerLite's answer is Power ($35.10 a month at 1,000), which still undercuts Marketer.
Marketer is the plan I'd question first. The basket above is tags and workflows, the part of Marketer that every alternative here includes. Marketer's other tools are store automations (abandoned cart, purchase emails, promo codes), web push notifications, a chat widget, contact scoring, paid-ads tools and funnels. If one of those is part of your normal month, confirm the alternative has it before you move; Moosend, for one, markets cart-abandonment automations.
Creator: the webinar line decides
Creator adds a website builder, a course creator, live webinars for up to 100 attendees, paid newsletters and memberships. None of the email-first alternatives covers that set. MailerLite's own comparison page says it "does not include native webinar hosting." The closest one-bill replacement is systeme.io, which hosts courses and websites on every plan, so the question becomes what you use for the webinar.
| Creator basket at 1,000 contacts | Per month (yearly billing) |
|---|---|
| GetResponse Creator | $56.58 |
| systeme.io Free (1 course, 1 website, 2,000 contacts) + Zoom Workplace Pro | $14.16 |
| systeme.io Startup (5 courses, 5 websites, 5,000 contacts) + Zoom Workplace Pro | $28.33 |
| systeme.io Startup + Zoom Webinars (500 attendees) + the Pro licence Zoom requires | $111.66 |
Zoom Workplace Pro allows 100 participants per meeting, which matches GetResponse Creator's 100-attendee webinars, but it's a meeting, not a webinar room: attendees join a call alongside everyone else rather than watching a view-only broadcast. If that's acceptable, the systeme.io and Zoom pair saves $28.25 a month at 1,000 contacts and more as your list grows, because systeme.io's price is flat to 5,000 while Creator's rises to $89.38. If you need a proper webinar product, the cheapest Zoom Webinars licence on Zoom's page is $83.33 a month for 500 attendees, and Zoom says it requires a Workplace Pro licence too. That bill is $55.08 a month more than staying on Creator.
There's a middle case. If your webinars are recorded and replayed rather than live, systeme.io's Webinar plan ($47, or $39.17 a month yearly) adds ten evergreen webinars to the courses and sites, up to 10,000 contacts, with no second tool. That's cheaper than Creator at every size in this article.
So: on Creator, write down how you run webinars before you look at anything else. Live, up to 100 people, with registration pages, paid tickets and replays in one place: stay. Live, up to 100, and a Zoom call is fine: systeme.io plus Zoom Pro. Recorded: systeme.io's Webinar plan. Over 100 live attendees is outside Creator too; GetResponse moves that to Enterprise, priced by quote, and the cheapest route I could price is the $111.66 systeme.io and Zoom Webinars bill.
The alternatives, by the bill they replace
Moosend is the cheapest rebuild of a Marketer basket at 1,000 contacts, and the cheapest at every size I priced if systeme.io's five-workflow, ten-tag caps are too tight. Moosend's plan table puts no cap on Pro's workflows or tags and gives it five team members. It has landing pages and forms but no website builder, courses or webinars. Constant Contact bought it in 2025, and what that has and hasn't changed is in my Moosend review; its billing rules are in my guide to what Moosend charges.
MailerLite is close to GetResponse on Starter-sized builds and far cheaper on Marketer-sized ones. Its Comfort plan caps how many forms, pages and automations you can switch on, and new accounts go through an approval step before sending, both covered in the MailerLite head-to-head.
systeme.io is the only alternative here that replaces Creator's courses and websites in one bill, and its prices stay flat across wide contact bands. Its email side is plainer: tag and workflow counts are capped by plan.
Kit suits creators who run many automations and sell digital products or paid newsletters. It's the most expensive rebuild of a Marketer basket here, and its Free plan sends no automated email.
Brevo charges by emails sent rather than contacts stored, so it doesn't fit these contact-based tables. It's the one to price if you have a large list and send rarely; the Brevo head-to-head works out where that ratio tips.
Costs no pricing page shows
The contract you're in. GetResponse's terms don't refund unused time on a yearly plan, and a renewal is automatic. If you prepaid a year, the cheapest day to leave is just before renewal. Cancelling has conditions of its own, and a July 2026 review headed "expensive and impossible to cancel" shows how it feels to get them wrong; my GetResponse pricing guide covers what the terms require and what happens to the rest of the year.
The rebuild. Lists move as a CSV; automations, forms and landing pages don't move at all. A reviewer put it bluntly in November 2025: once you're in, "you need to put the effort to make all your automations somewhere else." Tags can need redoing too. A Reddit user who moved from Mailchimp to MailerLite in September 2025 mentioned "importing all my subscribers (which was annoying as the tags didn't carry over)". Count your active workflows and pages before you count dollars, and budget the hours.
Migration help. Kit offers free migration for customers on its paid plans, rebuilding forms, templates and automations. I only confirmed Kit's offer; ask any other vendor before you assume it.
The first send. Some platforms review new accounts before the first big campaign, and an imported list carries its bounces with it wherever it goes. The send-day risks are in the MailerLite head-to-head, and they apply to any move. A user in r/Emailmarketing who has changed platforms twice gave a money reason to clean up first: "I recommend (as another user said) that you clean your list before migrating so you aren't paying for cold subscribers."
When staying on GetResponse is the cheaper answer
You sell through live webinars of up to 100 people and use the registration pages, paid tickets or replays. Rebuilding that properly means a Zoom Webinars licence plus a Pro seat plus a course and site host, which comes to roughly twice what Creator costs at 1,000 contacts. One five-star reviewer this year praised having "email marketing, webinars, courses, paid newsletters, automation tools, and much more" in one account, along with the support team.
You're on Starter with one list and one sequence, above systeme.io's caps. The alternatives cost about the same, and you'd be rebuilding for a few dollars.
You're mid-way through a prepaid year. The money's spent and the terms don't return it. Leaving now buys nothing; leaving at renewal saves the next year.
If one of those describes you, GetResponse's current plans are the cheaper bill, and the money is better spent on the yearly discount than on a migration. The case for leaving is strongest where GetResponse's price rises fastest: Marketer, from 1,000 contacts up, for anyone whose Marketer month is tags and workflows.
FAQ
What is the cheapest alternative to GetResponse?
For a Starter-sized setup under 2,000 contacts with one email sequence, systeme.io's Free plan costs nothing. For a Marketer-sized setup, Moosend Pro was the cheapest at 1,000 contacts ($13 a month on yearly billing, $16 monthly), and systeme.io's Startup plan ($14.17 yearly, $17 monthly) was cheapest from 2,500 to 5,000 if five workflows and ten tags are enough. Prices change; check the vendor's slider at your exact contact count.
Is there an alternative to GetResponse with webinars?
I found no live webinar hosting on the pricing pages of the email-first tools here, and MailerLite says outright it has none. systeme.io runs evergreen (recorded) webinars on its $47 Webinar plan. For live sessions, people pair an email or course tool with Zoom; a Zoom Workplace Pro meeting holds 100 participants, and Zoom Webinars starts at 500 attendees.
How do I move my automations out of GetResponse?
Workflows don't carry over from one platform to another; you rebuild them. Screenshot each workflow and note its trigger, waits, conditions and emails, save each email's HTML, and rebuild in the new tool's free tier or trial before your GetResponse renewal date. Export contacts with the fields you segment on, re-tag them on import, and switch your forms over last.
Can I leave GetResponse in the middle of a yearly plan and get a refund?
GetResponse's terms don't provide refunds for unused time. As the terms read now, cancelling leaves the account running until the paid period ends, but a cancellation isn't accepted while you're over your contact limit, so get under it and cancel before the renewal date.
Does GetResponse have a free plan, or do I need an alternative for that?
It has one, despite at least one ranking page saying otherwise. It holds 500 contacts, puts GetResponse's badge on your emails and restricts automation and how many visits your landing pages can take. Leave it untouched for 90 consecutive days and the terms say it gets disabled. If 500 isn't enough, systeme.io Free (2,000 contacts) and Kit Free (10,000 subscribers, though with no automated email) are the larger free plans among the tools here.
Is MailerLite a good GetResponse alternative?
For tag-and-workflow setups, yes on price: Comfort costs less than Marketer at every size I priced. For a simple Starter setup the two are within a few dollars, and MailerLite caps how many forms, pages and automations you can switch on.
