Moosend Review 2026: After the Constant Contact Sale
Constant Contact bought Moosend in June 2025. Prices haven't changed, but most reviews describe the Sitecore years. What still holds, what to test.

- June 6, 2025. Constant Contact announces it has bought Moosend from Sitecore.
- September 11, 2025. Moosend's billing help article gets a first-published date on a help center served from Constant Contact's knowledge-base system.
- June 9, 2026. Moosend publishes a page called "Moosend and Constant Contact: Your Questions Answered."
- Between May and August 2026. A line appears in the footer of Moosend's pricing page: "Moosend is now a Constant Contact company."
- September 7 and October 7, 2026. Two of the top-ranking "Moosend review 2026" pages are updated. Both still describe Moosend as a Sitecore company.
So the owner changed sixteen months ago, Moosend's public website took about a year to say so (customers may have heard sooner by email, which I can't see), and a good share of what you'll read today hasn't caught up. That gap, between a change in who runs a product and the evidence about it catching up, is what this review measures.
It matters for a review because Moosend's reputation has two kinds of claims in it. Claims about price and plan contents can be checked today against Moosend's own pages and inside an account, and I checked them in both places. Claims about support, the roadmap and how billing problems get handled describe whoever ran the company when the review was written. For 70 of the 81 visible Trustpilot reviews, and for two of the four top review pages, that was Sitecore.
My verdict, briefly: Moosend's price case is as good as it was before the sale. The support and roadmap reputation was earned under Sitecore. On support, the early signs under the new owner are good: three post-sale five-star reviewers praise it in the same terms as the older reviews. Choose Moosend for what its plan table shows today, and try the chat during the trial.
How far the evidence trails the owner
Here's every claim I could find in Moosend's reputation, sorted by whether it's checkable today or describes an earlier owner.
| Claim | Evidence date | Status in October 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Pro starts at $9 a month for 500 contacts | Pricing page, read October 8, 2026 | Checked: same ladder as June 2024 |
| No free plan; 30-day trial without a card | Pricing page FAQ, October 2026; a trial account opened October 8, 2026 | Checked, including in the account |
| Automation, landing pages and forms on every paid plan | Plan comparison table, October 2026 | Checked |
| Fast, friendly live-chat support | Mostly reviews from 2019 to May 2025 | Changed hands; a few post-sale data points, below |
| Product investment and a busy roadmap | Release notes end February 2023; review claims about the Sitecore years | Changed hands; no dated releases since |
| Billing disputes handled fairly or unfairly | Reviews from 2021 onward | Changed hands; complaints continue, below |
| 'A Sitecore company' | Sitecore owned it from 2021 to June 2025 | Out of date |
The top half of that table decides what you pay, and it's current. The bottom half holds the praise, and it isn't.
What the reviews were written about
Moosend's Trustpilot page says it has 84 reviews; 81 are visible. Sorted by the date they were posted:
| Year | Reviews | 5-star | 1- or 2-star |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2018–2020 | 8 | 6 | 2 |
| 2021 | 6 | 0 | 6 |
| 2022 | 12 | 0 | 11 |
| 2023 | 15 | 9 | 6 |
| 2024 | 21 | 14 | 7 |
| 2025 | 13 | 7 | 6 |
| 2026 (to October 8) | 6 | 1 | 5 |
Seventy of the 81 were posted before the sale. Those 70 average 3.0 stars. The 11 posted since average 2.2. Trustpilot's own summary puts Moosend at 45% five-star and 49% one-star, with almost nothing in between.
Two dates inside that table are worth knowing. The 2022 run of one-star reviews follows the end of Moosend's free plan in January 2022. And 14 of Moosend's 37 five-star reviews were posted between October 15 and November 25, 2024. I'm not suggesting anything about those 14. They're just a large part of the positive side of the page, and all of them describe the Sitecore years.
The review sites have the same lag. Of the four "Moosend review 2026" pages that ranked highest for me:
- emailsoftwarereview.com (updated September 7, 2026) says Moosend was "acquired by Sitecore in 2021" and that "Sitecore's backing accelerated Moosend's roadmap." It doesn't mention the sale to Constant Contact.
- emailvendorselection.com (updated October 7, 2026) answers "When did Sitecore acquire Moosend?" in its FAQ and compares Moosend with Constant Contact as a rival. It also lists "24/7 live chat and email support on all plans, including the free trial"; the owner's FAQ, quoted below, says 24/5.
- TechRadar (April 28, 2026) doesn't name an owner.
- emailtooltester.com (updated July 27, 2026) is the only one to note the sale, in a parenthetical: "in 2025 it was acquired once again – this time by competitor Constant Contact."
None of that makes their testing wrong. It means that when they praise the company rather than the software, you can't tell which company they mean.
What's still true: the price and the plan
This is the part of Moosend's reputation that survived the sale intact.
The price ladder hasn't moved. Pro still starts at $9 a month for 500 contacts and reaches $88 at 10,000, with 20% off for yearly billing, and the list prices match archived copies of the pricing page from June 2024 and May 2025, before the sale, and captures through September 2026. Every step of the ladder, with six-month billing and credits, is in my Moosend pricing breakdown.
Constant Contact's FAQ for Moosend customers says: "Your current plan and features remain unchanged. If anything changes in the future, we will communicate it clearly and well in advance." That's a statement about intent, not a contract term, but sixteen months in, the ladder agrees with it.
The plan contents haven't moved either. Pro includes the automation builder, landing pages, subscription forms, segmentation and reporting, with 5 team members. It leaves out transactional email, custom reports, dedicated IPs, single sign-on and extra seats, which come with the custom-priced Moosend+ plan. The support rows in the comparison table are the same as in the May 2025 capture: email and live chat on every plan, priority support only on Enterprise.
The contract hasn't moved. The terms of service are dated June 2025 and name Moosend Ltd. of London as the company you contract with. Constant Contact's FAQ says invoices still come from Moosend and the name on your card statement won't change.
So the price-based case for Moosend still stands, with its own complications. How Moosend handles a list that grows past your plan mid-month, and what that does to a scheduled campaign, is a billing rule covered on that same pricing page, along with yearly renewal. Where its widely spaced price steps make it dearer than MailerLite is in Moosend vs MailerLite. Neither has changed since the sale.
What changed: the company around the product
The software looks the same from the outside. The company around it doesn't.
The help center moved. Moosend's documentation at docs.moosend.com now loads its articles from a Constant Contact server, kbrelay.ctct.io, and its "Ask the Community" button opens Constant Contact's community forum. The billing FAQ I relied on for my pricing guide shows a first-published date of September 11, 2025 on that system, three months after the sale.
Moosend stopped competing with its owner. In May 2025, the footer of Moosend's pricing page linked to "Moosend vs Constant Contact" and "ConstantContact Alternatives." The first address now redirects to Moosend's homepage. The second returns HTTP 410, the code for a page removed on purpose, though its metadata still carries the title "10 Constant Contact Alternatives For 2026" and a last-modified date of May 21, 2026. The comparison links that remain are Mailchimp, Kit and MailerLite.
Moosend points you to Constant Contact for some things. Moosend's homepage now has a panel headed "Go beyond the inbox with Constant Contact," offering SMS (in the US and Australia), social media and event tools. The FAQ ends the same way. If you need those channels, the owner's answer is a second product, not a Moosend feature.
Some Sitecore traces remain. The logo file in the structured data of Moosend's homepage is still named "Moosend-Sitecore_Logo," uploaded in 2021. The Sitecore marketing-consent wording was gone from the pricing page by January 2026. And Moosend still powers Sitecore Send: the sale announcement says "Moosend will continue to power Sitecore's Send solution for new and existing customers."
The release notes stopped long before the sale. Moosend's "What's new" page was last edited in February 2026, but its newest dated entry is from February 2023, an integration with Sitecore's asset library. The product has features the page doesn't list, such as the AI Writer named in the pricing FAQ, but nothing dates them, so I can't tell you what was added under which owner.
Inside a trial account
Everything above comes from public pages. To see whether the account itself tells the same story, I opened a Moosend trial on October 8, 2026, the day I checked the prices, and read through it without importing a list, building anything or sending a campaign.
The price side matches the public page. The plan picker inside the account has the same structure as the pricing page: Pro, then custom-priced Moosend+ and Enterprise, with tabs reading "Biannual / Save 15%" and "Annual / Save 20%." The trial card lists "No Credit Card Required," and I didn't enter one. The billing overview shows a plan with "1,000 Maximum subscribers" and, under the default payment method, "No payment methods added."
The support desk runs on the owner's side too. The help panel offers five getting-started articles, from "How do I get started with my Moosend account?" to importing contacts. The chat button opened a separate window on support-ctct.moosend.com. That's the same "ctct" prefix as the kbrelay.ctct.io server that feeds Moosend's help articles, so I read it as Constant Contact's support infrastructure; the name is my only evidence. Neither the panel nor the chat form showed a phone number or support hours.
The account can't tell me how support performs. I didn't start a chat. An empty trial account shows who runs the desk and what it offers, not how fast it answers or how it handles a billing dispute, which is where most of the post-sale complaints are.
What a year of new evidence says
Since the sale there are three kinds of evidence about the parts that changed hands. All three are small.
Support. Constant Contact's FAQ says the two companies "currently maintain separate support teams" and that Moosend customers can reach "the Moosend team via our 24/5 email and chat support." So support isn't round the clock, and it isn't Constant Contact's phone line. TechRadar's April 2026 review, written after the sale, says Moosend's "live chat support is among the most responsive we've encountered at this tier." Three of the 11 post-sale Trustpilot reviews are five-star reviews that praise support, one for a setup video call, and a two-star review about cost calls support "nice." One, from September 2026, says the opposite: that support got much worse after the acquisition. The same reviewer says a template-designer bug has been "logged as a bug on their side for more than 9 months," which is a product bug rather than a support delay. I quoted that review's support line in my pricing breakdown; here it's the only post-sale review that compares support before and after the sale.
What to expect from the chat. Moosend's support reputation rests on one thing, and it holds from the oldest reviews to the newest: you reach a person on chat within minutes on weekdays, they're friendly, and the problem tends to get solved quickly. It comes up in more than half of Moosend's five-star reviews, and the post-sale five-star reviews praise it too. My own trial got as far as the support-ctct chat window and no further. I didn't start a conversation, so the speed is customers' word rather than mine, but it's consistent enough that a quick, friendly weekday chat is what I'd tell anyone switching to expect.
Billing. Three of the post-sale reviews are about money taken after the customer thought they'd stopped or hadn't started: a November cancellation the reviewer says never registered, followed by a yearly renewal three months later; an "auto renewal with no notice"; and a card charged when the reviewer started a trial. A fourth says a trial ended the same day it started and support didn't reply. My own trial asked for no card as far as I went, which was the first step of the form and landing-page builders; I didn't try to publish or send, where a prompt could still appear. Billing complaints aren't new for Moosend: six of the 17 one- and two-star reviews from 2021 and 2022 are about the free plan ending, losing access after a trial, a refused refund or a cancellation that didn't stick, and three more describe accounts blocked with little or no explanation. What the post-sale reviews show is that the problem didn't leave with Sitecore.
Deliverability. One August 2026 reviewer who moved a list from ActiveCampaign titles the review "Avoid Moosend if email deliverability matters to your business". A single account's results can't tell you about anyone else's, and I don't test deliverability, so I'm noting it, not weighing it.
Put together, the post-sale reviews that mention support include the same kind of praise the older ones give, alongside the billing complaints above. It's about a dozen data points against six and a half years of reviews, so it's an early sign rather than a settled record.
Where the sale hasn't shown up: the price
The usual fear after an acquisition is the price: a new owner raising it, or folding the product into its own plans. Customers here had that fear too. In a June 2025 thread about the sale, a Reddit user in r/Emailmarketing wrote, "We use Moosend for newsletter campaigns. It's priced well compared to Mailchimp, etc. which is probably why we have stuck with them." The same user added, "I don't believe we've heard anything about this from them as a customer." On the documents, the opposite happened. The price ladder, the plan table, the login and the invoices are the parts that haven't changed. What changed is the help center, the comparison pages, the cross-selling and the company that will make the next decisions.
That moves the risk. The price held, so it's support and the roadmap that need checking, because those are what passed to a new owner.
What the dates can't tell me
- Whether support quality changed. Eleven reviews and one magazine test in sixteen months can't show a trend either way. I read them as a list of things to test, not a verdict.
- How support treats a paying customer now. I didn't contact support from the trial account, so the chat speed above is what customers report, most of it from before the sale.
- What Constant Contact plans for Moosend. The sale announcement mentions "investment in Moosend's product portfolio." The FAQ says "We don't plan to change the user experience." Neither is a roadmap.
- What shipped since 2023. The release notes don't date anything after February 2023.
Who I'd point to Moosend now
- A list under 10,000 contacts that needs automation at a low price. The price case is current and checkable, and it's strongest here.
- A team that can live with email and chat support only. That's what the owner's FAQ describes: "24/5 email and chat support," no phone.
- Anyone who'll use the trial to test the parts that changed hands. It runs 30 days, covers up to 1,000 contacts and, per the pricing page and my own sign-up, needs no card.
I wouldn't choose Moosend for a feature it doesn't have yet, on the expectation that the new owner will add it. The owner's own homepage sends SMS, social and events to Constant Contact, and nothing published commits Moosend to building them.
I also wouldn't choose it if phone support is a requirement. Moosend doesn't offer it, and the FAQ says Constant Contact's phone support isn't shared.
If the list above fits you, open a Moosend trial account and put the support question to it first.
FAQ
Who owns Moosend now? Constant Contact, since June 6, 2025. Sitecore owned it from 2021 until then. Your contract is still with Moosend Ltd., and invoices still come from Moosend.
Is Moosend shutting down? Not according to Constant Contact's FAQ for Moosend customers, which answers "No. Moosend is here to stay." Logins stay at moosend.com and existing integrations and the API keep working, according to the same page.
Did Moosend's prices change after the acquisition? No. Pro is $9 a month for 500 contacts and $88 for 10,000, the same ladder as in June 2024. Yearly billing takes 20% off.
Can I phone Moosend support? No. Moosend describes its support as 24/5 email and live chat. Asked whether Moosend customers can now use Constant Contact's phone support, the owner's FAQ answers that the two keep separate support teams. The help panel and chat form inside a trial account show no phone number either.
How do I test Moosend's support before paying? During the 30-day trial, ask live chat a question that matters for your setup, such as domain authentication or importing your list, and note how long the reply takes and whether it solves the problem. Reviewers describe getting a chat within minutes and problems solved quickly, and TechRadar puts typical response times at five to thirty minutes; support runs 24/5. That's the post-sale support you'd be buying. If your newsletter is coded in another app, my guide to sending hand-coded HTML through Moosend covers the import and the domain records in the order they take time.
How do I make sure a Moosend subscription actually stops? Cancel under Billing, keep the confirmation, and on a yearly plan follow the notice period in Moosend's terms, which I explain in the pricing breakdown. Two of the billing complaints posted since the sale are about renewals the customer thought they'd stopped or hadn't been warned about.
Is Moosend the same as Sitecore Send? Sitecore Send runs on Moosend's technology, and the sale announcement says that continues. According to CMSWire's report of Sitecore's email to customers, Sitecore sells Send under a reseller agreement and supports Send customers itself. Moosend is sold directly.
Can I use Moosend without paying? Only during the trial. The free plan ended in January 2022. The trial lasts 30 days and covers up to 1,000 contacts, and Moosend also sells send credits for occasional senders.
